A Night of One Acts

September 29 @ 7:00 pm

$5

Evangel University’s Theatre program proudly presents “A Night of One Acts,” featuring a condensed version of “The Importance of Being Earnest” by Oscar Wilde and selections from “All in the Timing” by David Ives.

The one-night-only performance will be held this Friday, Sept. 29 at 7 p.m. in the Barnett Theater. The community is invited to attend.

Ticket prices are $5 for general admission, and seat selections will be made on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets may be purchased in advance at evangel.edu/boxoffice or on site.

Production and performers

“The Importance of Being Earnest” is a farcical comedy by Oscar Wilde and is widely considered the writer’s magnum opus. First performed in 1895, the play follows two young men in Victorian England who maintain false identities to escape boring or burdensome social obligations.

“All in the Timing” is a collection of one-act plays by David Ives focused on wordplay, existentialism, and complicated romantic situations. EU Theatre will perform two selections from the work, “Sure Thing” and “The Philadelphia.”

“These one-act performances present opportunities for students to gain experience directing productions, handling everything from the performances to the lighting and costumes,” said Dr. Vickie Wisdom, professor of theatre and head of EU Theatre. “We are thrilled for the community to see the fine work these young women and men have put into these shows!”

The casts feature the following Evangel students:
