Funeral arrangements have been announced for the firefighter with the Ebenezer Fire Protection District who died in a crash Friday night while responding to a structure fire.
A visitation for 36-year-old Dustin Brandhorst will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Praise Assembly of God in Springfield.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will follow and take place at Greenlawn North Cemetery.
A post on the Ebenezer Fire Protection District’s Facebook page said a large turnout is expected for the procession. The district has a logistics team coordinating the procession.
“Their information will be released as soon as possible, so that individuals, organizations, and/or departments can reach out to find their assigned staging and arrival time,” the post says. “Please monitor our page for that information, we will release an update as soon as possible.”
According to the Missouri Highway Patrol Report, Brandhorst was driving a 2007 International Fire Truck on Highway A about seven miles north of Springfield when the vehicle went off the right side of the road and overturned.
Brandhorst had been with the Ebenezer Fire Protection District for more than three years.
Blue Duck Signs announced it is sponsoring a decal fundraiser for Brandhorst’s family. The district shared information about the fundraiser and said it was verified.
The decal honoring Brandhorst is $10 and comes in two sizes. All proceeds will be given to Brandhorst’s family. Decals can be purchased at www.blueducksigns.com.
