An 18-year-old Springfield man who apparently was shot early Saturday morning died Monday, Aug. 1, according to Springfield police.

Jaiden Falls, who died, was one of three men who apparently were shot. Police currently do not have a suspect.

According to police, an officer heard gunfire coming from near the White Oak Gas Station at 310 S. Scenic Ave.

When officers responded to investigate, several vehicles sped away.

One of those vehicles was located in a parking lot in the 2800 block of W. Chestnut Expressway, according to police. Three men were inside the vehicle with apparent gunshot wounds.

Falls and another man who apparently was shot were taken to the hospital. The third man refused medical attention and did not go to the hospital.

Detectives are asking anyone with information to contact the department at 417-864-1810 or to make an anonymous call to Crime Stoppers at 417-869-TIPS (8477).

This is Springfield’s 12th homicide in 2022.
