The Springfield Police Department needs the public’s assistance to help identify a driver who violated traffic laws.

On Oct. 26, the driver of a 2000s black Honda Accord ran a stop sign while driving southbound on Golden Avenue and hit a red Ford Focus that was driving westbound on Division Street.

“The driver of the Accord is described as a white man in his 20s or 30s with short hair and a small, athletic build,” a press release from SPD reads. “He also appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance.”

The driver of the Ford sustained no injuries in the crash, according to public affairs officer Cris Swaters.

Those with information about the suspect are encouraged to contact SPD at (417) 864-1447 or leave an anonymous call at (417) 869-TIPS.
