Rescue One, a nonprofit foster-based animal rescue group, has a record number of animals in care — about 520 rescued cats, kittens, puppies and dogs looking for forever homes.

To help find those homes in southwest Missouri, Rescue One is hosting virtual and in-person adoption events this week. Adoption fees for all animals for approved applicants have been lowered to $25 for dogs and $10 for cats.

All adoptable animals are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and microchipped prior to being placed for adoption.

Rescue One is not an animal shelter. All of the animals in Rescue One’s care live in foster homes until they are adopted.
