
Glenn Dale Walton, 87 of Bolivar, departed this earthly life on September 10, 2023.
On November 17, 1953, at the age of 17, Glenn enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he completed several years of training in what became his life-long career as an aircraft mechanic. Glenn retired from the Air Force on May 9, 1973, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and immediately went to work for them as a civilian aircraft mechanic at Vance Air Force Base in Enid, Oklahoma.
On August 3, 1956, Glenn married the sassy Texan, Elma Louise Walton. In April of 1967, the two lovebirds welcomed their one and only daughter, Tina Louise Walton, and began a lifetime of loving, supporting and spoiling her. On April 23, 1978, Glenn was ordained as a Deacon at Calvary Baptist Church in Enid, Oklahoma.
Glenn is survived and missed by his loving wife, Elma Louise (Mayo) of 70 years. Forever cherished and remembered by his daughter, Tina and her s/o, Ed McCune; his three grandchildren, Madison Barletta with husband Sean, Bailey Howery and husband Jared, and Samuel Martin and s/o Sara O’Malley, and Glenn’s pride and joy great-granddaughter, Sadie Grace Howery. Glenn was loved and admired by many cousins, nieces, and nephews whom he loved dearly.
Services will be held at Pitts Chapel on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at 11:00 AM.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 12 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM in the chapel.
Interment will be at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, in Springfield, Missouri, at 1:00 PM following the service.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Pitts Chapel, Bolivar, Missouri.
