Jerry Everett Miller, 75 of Springfield, passed from this earth on September 3, 2023 in Springfield, Missouri.
He enlisted in the Army in 1965 doing his basic training at Fort Polk, Louisiana and earning his MOS in radio teletype communications. He was proud to be a maintenance test pilot and an instructor pilot for the Blackhawk. Retiring from the Army after 28 years, he moved the family to Missouri and was employed by Prime Trucking in Springfield.
He is survived by his wife Bernadette, his son Brian Miller, daughter-in-law, Kelly Miller, and grandson, Everett Miller. Also surviving are his sister, Ruby Hill, brothers, Harold Miller and Samuel Miller, and daughter, Michele Cornish. In addition he is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, September 11, 2023 in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.
Graveside service with full military honors will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
