
Lorna McMinn Glendinning, 70 of Springfield, passed away in her home on September 7, 2023, following a long battle with cancer.
She met her future husband, Raymond Glendinning, during a concert by Joe Dolan and the Drifters; Lorna and Raymond were married in 1971. Four children—Brian, Diane, Emma and Hannah—were born while Raymond trained as an evangelist for churches of Christ. Following seven years at Skelmersdale, England the family moved to the United States in 1989, where Raymond worked with churches in Kansas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Texas, and Missouri. Lorna was a stay-at-home mom and homemaker during the entire period.
Lorna is survived by her husband of 51 years, Raymond; son Brian and wife Kelly of Topeka, Kansas; and daughters Diane Glendinning of Elm Springs, Arkansas, Emma Jackson of Springfield, and Hannah Glendinning of Stratford, Texas. She is also survived by grandchildren Jacob, Luke, Kaleb, Ben, Marion, David and Bruce and by four sisters in Northern Ireland: Phyllis Hamilton, Thelma McCormick (Lorna’s twin), Roberta Johnston, and Kathleen Copeman.
A celebration of Lorna’s life will be at 11:00 am, Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at Sunset Church of Christ, with a visitation from 10:30 – 11:00 am.
