Martha Jean Young, 86 of Ozark, passed away Friday, August 25, 2023.
On September 4, 1955 she and Ronald Dean Young were married. High School sweethearts, they never dated another after they met when she was 16 and he was 18. Martha was an elementary school teacher for over 30 years, and received her master’s degree from MSU. Most of her career was teaching in the Ozark School District, retiring in 1998. Martha volunteered for the Baptist Home and Farm Bureau. They were devoted to Ozark First Baptist Church, where they volunteered and studied the Bible.
Survivors include: Her husband of 67 years, Ron; two daughters, Elaine Young of Ozark, and Marilyn Ruggles of Kansas City; three grandchildren, Rebecca Fairman and husband Mark and their children, Carter and Elle, Grant Ruggles and Larkin, and Mikayla Ruggles.
The Funeral Service will be 4:00 PM Monday, August 28, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. A time of visitation will follow.
A Graveside Service will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 29, in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield. Memorial donations in Martha’s name may be made to Gideons International.
