The Rev. Julie M. March, 78 of Springfield, died on Friday, January 27, 2023.

In addition to her roles as wife and mother/step-mother, Julie was an Adjunct Instructor of American and Black History at MSU and the Curator of the History Museum for Springfield-Greene County for close to 20 years. During these years she co-edited “Crossroads at the Spring, A Pictorial History of Springfield, Missouri” (1997), was the 2000 Governor’s Humanities Award Recipient – Excellence in Community Heritage, and received the MSU History Alumni Award for 2008. Julie moved from these endeavors to answer God’s call to ministry. Julie met her late husband, the Rev. Dr. Curtis A. March, while pursuing her undergraduate degree. They married in 1972 and joined their families with a total of six children between them.

She is survived by her children David K. March; Elizabeth D. March; Rebecca L. and Steve Kornacki; David C. March and Janet Just; Susan C. and Rick Uffmann; Captain Richard A. and Marie March; her grandchildren and great grandchildren Greg and Amanda Uffmann Hazleton; John and Katie Uffmann Tan (Jett, Penelope); Will and Jess Uffmann (Liam, Bailey); Shane and Tabitha March Nichols; Erica March; and many extended family members and friends.

Interment for the Rev. Julie M. March will be in Maple Park Cemetery.

A Service of Witness to the Resurrection will be held at a later date at Trinity Presbyterian Church  (PCUSA), Springfield, MO.
