Thomas Raymond Shane, 85 of Springfield, went to be with the Lord on August 27, 2023.
Tom was a graduate of Central High School. He was a member and Deacon of Grant Avenue Baptist Church. Tom loved working on cars and anything with an engine. He was proud to say that he spent 23 years with Uncle Sam as he served in the Army National Guard.
Tom married his sweetheart, Edwina Marlene (Lamar) Shane in 1960. They were blessed with 2 children—Beth and Phillip.
Tom is survived by his daughter Elizabeth Ann Shane-Clark and her husband John, son Phillip Shane and his wife Valerie, grandchildren Erica Shane, Adam Clark and his fiancé Grace Dixon, Audrey (Clark) McAnally and her husband Kruz, Andrew Clark, and Brandon’s fiancé April Allen, his great granddaughter Lilliana Clark, sister Evelyn (Shane) Looney and brother Barry Shane and his wife Anne, sisters-in law Pat Shane, Harriet (Lamar) List and her husband Rick, Barbara (Lamar) Morgan and brother-in-law Joe Lamar as well as many other family and friends.
Visitation for Mr. Shane will be Tuesday, September 5, 2023, 10:00am – 12:00pm at Greenlawn Funeral Home South.
Graveside Services will be at White Chapel Cemetery Tuesday, September 5, 2023, 1:00 pm.
