Donna Smith, 82 of Springfield, passed away on July 21, 2022.

After graduating from Stockton High School in 1957, she immediately went to work for The Department of Labor in Washington DC. Returning to Missouri in 1959, she married her high school sweetheart Ron Smith. Donna owned and operated her own business, Donna’s Beauty Salon, for many years. In 1975, Ron and Donna purchased The Red Barn Restaurant in Greenfield. After selling The Red Barn in 1988, Donna worked for several years as a restaurant manager at Silver Dollar City and then at Shoney’s.

It isn’t possible to summarize this amazing woman’s life or say all the wonderful and beautiful things that should be said about her, in a single page. She was a firecracker with the strength and energy of a tornado!

She was the dear sister of Ralph Elton (Sue), Janice (Donnie), and Linda (Ron), beloved wife of Ron Smith, loving mother of Kevin (Connie) and Marla, devoted grandmother of Tiffany (Fernando), Nick, Chanel (Karly), Sydney, Ireland, Elvis, Bono, Chad (Ashley), and Aubrey (Dustin), and proud great grandmother of Alejo, Santi, Rexi, Sebastian, Heath, Hannah, and Emery.

Service will be held at Greenlawn Funeral Home East on Wednesday 7/27, at 10:00 am.

burial will follow at Stockton City Cemetery later that day at  2:00 pm.
