Gene Robison, 96 of Springfield, passed away on Monday January 9, 2023, while in Cox Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.

In 1944, he enlisted in the Navy and was a Pharmacist’s Mate at the Great Lakes Navy Hospital in the Plastic and Neural Surgery section. He met Shirley Constantos from Leavenworth, Kansas whom he later married in 1949. After graduating from KU, he was hired by GMAC, the financing arm of General Motors. During his career Gene & Shirley lived in seven different locations, the last one being Springfield, Missouri where he served as Branch Manager.

He enjoyed his retirement years with many activities including gardening, volunteering at the Cox Hospital gift shop for many years. Beyond his family, his greatest pleasures were being a member of the church of Christ, attending church services, studying the Bible, and sending encouraging messages to his many friends even while facing health issues.

Gene is survived by his three sons Dr. David Robison (wife Sandi) of Willard, Mike Robison of Dallas, Steve Robison of Oklahoma City and a grandson Dr. Damon Robison (wife Funmi) of Springfield.

Visitation is at 11:00 am Friday January 20, 2023 with the service celebrating his life beginning at 11:30am.

Burial will be in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery with a private service with only the family present at 1:00pm.

Dwight Samuel will be officiating the funeral service and the private burial service. Services are being coordinated by Greenlawn Funeral Home.
