Jimmy Lee Elliff, 80 of Springfield, passed away Monday afternoon at Mercy Hospital, after a long illness.
Jimmy was born on January 19, 1943, in Tupelo, Mississippi, to Hayes and Lorene (Robinson) Elliff. He was a member of the Watermill Church of Christ, serving as a deacon over finances. He retired as a Financial manager for G.M.A.C. after 35 years and for Tracker Financial after 8 years. He retired from the Mississippi National Guard as a Lieutenant Colonel after 25 years of service to his country.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Johnnie Elliff, a son and his wife, Lee and Aletha Elliff, four grandchildren: Jordan and husband, Calvin Howard, Jayla and husband Dillon Cox, Jamie White and Brandon White, and three great-grandchildren: Hattie Jo Howard, Mason Smith and Jaiden Vaughn.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 27, 2023, with visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. before services at Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
Burial will be at a later date, in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Fair Haven Children’s Home.
