Kay Marie Kerby, 86 of Springfield, passed away peacefully at home into the arms of Jesus on June 13, 2022, with loved ones by her side.

She attended Central High School and Southwest Missouri State University, later working at Graybar Electric. She married Russ Robinson and they had two children, Kathleen and Russell. In 1969 she married Cecil Harold Kerby and they spent nearly fifty happy years together until his death in 2019. Kay was a gifted artist, craftsperson, gardener, and seamstress, and was very athletic. As a member of First Baptist Church, she taught Bible School, and the family was active in the many activities hosted by the church.

She is survived by her children, Kathleen Robinson Wirt and Russell V. Robinson, her brother Jerry Lee Goss, niece Cindy Springer, nephews Darrell and Kelly Goss, grand-nieces and nephews Amanda Goss, Ashley Kautzman, Reid Goss, Rylee Phillips, and four great-grand- nieces and nephews.

There will be a short graveside service at 10:00 am on Friday, June 17, 2022, at Missouri Veteran’s Cemetery in Springfield, where she will be interred beside her beloved husband Cecil.

A reception will be held following at the family home. Arrangements are being made by Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.
