Peggy Lawson, 85 of Springfield, passed away on July 6, 2022.
She married Sherdell Lawson in 1954, and they had two children, Lori Annette and Jeffrey Lane. Peggy worked in the banking industry for 45 years, starting at Citizens Bank in the 1950s, and moving to Union National Bank after the birth of her daughter. After years in the proof department at Boatmen’s Union National Bank, she eventually became the branch manager of several locations. In 1986, she became the president of the Assemblies of God Credit Union, where she worked until her retirement in 2004.
After only a few years of retirement, Peggy began working again, spending nine years as a receptionist in the dental offices of Drs. John and Jeff Heard. Peggy’s life was devoted to preparing to meet her savior, Jesus Christ.
She is survived by her daughter Lori Morgan and husband Ron, her son Jeffrey Lawson, granddaughter Mandy Coday and husband Connor, brother Ted Hamilton and his wife Kim, and several beloved nieces and nephews of the Hamilton and Palmer families.
Memorial contributions may be made to Ridgecrest Baptist Church choir or missions fund.
Visitation is at Ridgecrest Baptist Church 2210 West Republic Road Springfield, MO on Sunday 7/10, 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm
Services will also be held at Ridgecrest Baptist Church at 2:30 pm
Burial will follow at Missouri Veterans Cemetery on Tuesday 7/12, 9:00 am.
