Roy Eugene Kirkpatrick Sr, 70 of Fair Grove, passed away on January 10th after a courageous battle with cancer.

He served his country as a Redeye Missile Gunner specialist from 1971-1975, traveling around the world executing missions in Panama and Germany. He continued serving in the Army Reserves from 1977-2011 and was proud to be an American. A jack of all trades, Roy had numerous successful careers after finishing his service. He worked at French’s from 1975-2000 and oversaw quality control for the entire plant. Roy later worked  delivering automotive parts for Tri-States; finishing his career serving others with the Fair Grove School System in environmental services and driving the OATs transit bus.

He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, camping, and collecting beer steins, but most of all he enjoyed building and sharing a life with his wife Carol of 49 years.

Roy is survived by his wife Carol and son Roy Kirkpatrick Jr, grandchildren; Devante, Chyna, Erin, Blaine, and Stormi; great grand children Lynnleigh and Waylon, and nieces Anna and Jessamyn, and Aunt Roberta Dinwiddie.
