Thomas Fredrick Fox, 103 of Springfield, passed away at Woodland Manor Nursing Facility on Friday, January 27, 2023.
Tommy met the love of his life, Margy Lee Deckard, through family. Margy and Tommy married on June 16, 1940, in Webster County, Missouri. To this union one son was born, Harold Fox. Tommy built the house he and Margy lived in since 1963.
Tommy started with Frisco Railroad in the 1940’s. Through his position as a pipefitter there he did many things. In 1948, while on furlough from the railroad, Tommy moved the family to Los Angeles, California. While there he worked for Lincoln-Mercury Manufacturing, until 1953, when he came home to go back to Frisco. He retired from there in 1981. He was a HAM radio operator, call sign, N0UDP.
He is survived by his son Harold Fox, and his wife, Nancy; grandchildren, Debbie Strohm (Kevin), Lorie Humphrey (Mike), and Joe Fox (Tia); and great-grandchildren: Zachary Strohm, Ansley Rankin, Coy Fox, and Caylee Fox.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Tommy’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
A visitation for Tommy will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. also at Greenlawn Funeral Home North in Springfield, Missouri.
Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
