A 78-year-old woman from Iowa died Monday, March 27, as a result of injuries she suffered in a March 6 accident that she caused at West Mt. Vernon Street and West Bypass/Highway 160, according to Springfield police.

Beverly Delcour, of Iowa City, was the only person injured in the March 6 accident.

Delcour was driving a 2015 Ford Fusion southbound on West Bypass/Highway 160 near Mt. Vernon Street, according to police, when she entered the intersection on a red light and hit an eastbound 2014 Chevrolet Express van.

The collision sent Delcour’s vehicle into the northbound lanes where it hit two northbound vehicles stopped at the red light, according to police.

Delcour was transported to the hospital.
