Donna Jean Miller, 71 of Springfield, passed away on September 3, 2023, at her home in Springfield, MO.
Donna met the love of her life while attending Southwest Missouri State University, and married Paul Delany Miller on January 21, 1972. Donna was a loving, devoted, and compassionate mother to her son, Scott Daniel Miller (born in 1972), and daughter, Amy Michelle Miller (born in 1977). She embodied Disney, magic, wonder, and adventure with a carefree attitude and a childlike sparkle in her eye.
Donna is survived by her doting and giving husband, Paul; son, Scott Gutierrez-Miller and his husband Raul Dejesus Gutierrez; daughter, Amy (Miller) Tillman; grandchildren, Brody and Wyler Tillman; brother, John Denton and his wife Ruth; nephew, Russ Denton and family; favorite aunt of all time, Thelma Williams; cousin, Raymond Williams and his wife Julie; and many other cherished family members and dearest friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at Paul and Donna’s home from 2-4 PM. Please join them to share happy memories, laughter, treats, and a Coke in her honor.
Mass will be held on Monday, September 11, 2023, at 10:30 AM, at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church (2200 W Republic Rd Springfield, MO 65807), led by Reverend Thomas P. Kiefer. Burial will be in Hazelwood Cemetery, Springfield, MO, following mass at 12 PM.
Donna requested that anyone attending her events wear casual attire, possibly your Disney best.
Donna wasn’t a big fan of fresh flowers as she didn’t like that they just wither away. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society of Southwest Missouri in her name, or directly to Paul Miller to carry on her Disney legacy.
Her care has been entrusted to Walnut Lawn Funeral Home, Ltd. DeGraffenreid-Wood Crematory, Springfield, Missouri.
