“Donnie” Charles Donald Cockrum, Sr., 80 of Springfield, went to be with the Lord on September 25, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family.
He enlisted in the United States Army. Charles was united in marriage to Marie Johnson on July 8th 1965, in Springfield Mo. Charles and Marie were blessed with 10 children. He was a proud member of Passion Assembly of God church where his son is the Lead Pastor.
He is survived by his wife Marie Cockrum and nine children, His sons Scott and Kathee Cockrum, Donnie, Jr. and Stephanie Cockrum, Mark and Cassie Cockrum, Billy and Lisa Cockrum, Joshua and Jessica Cockrum. His daughters Tonya and Doug Marrow, Vicky Cockrum, Tina Browning and Josh Herrod, Penny and Ralph Ryan, thirty-three grandchildren , thirty-three great-grandchildren, one great great-grandchild, a sister Debbie Greek , numerous nephews, nieces , and a multitude of friends.
A visitation for Donnie will be held on Friday, September 29, 2023, at 6:00-8:00 p.m., at Greenlawn Funeral Home, North in Springfield, Missouri.
A funeral for Donnie will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. also in the funeral home with a burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens located in Springfield, Missouri.
