Dr. Murray Edmond Germany, 90 of Springfield, passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at Mercy Hospital, after a short illness.  

Murray married Roberta Cunningham in 1954. After graduating from St. Louis University dental school in 1957, Murray served as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force from 1957 to 1959 at George Air Force Base in California.  In 1959, he moved his family to Springfield, where he practiced general dentistry until he retired in 2017.  Murray received an award from the Missouri Dental Board for 50 years of practice.  

Dr. Germany is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Roberta; two daughters, Gail King (Paul) and Rhonda Sortor (Ronnie) of Springfield; three grandsons: Brian (Megan), Eric, and Todd King; great-grandson Elliot; and siblings: sister Barbara Johnson (Ken), sister Terri Deitrich (Eldon) both of Springfield, brother Torris Germany (Dean) of Strafford, sister Kathy Hartsock (Ron) of Nixa, and sister Levelia Ford (Dale) of Madison, Mississippi; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A family memorial gathering will be held at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home with a burial service at Missouri Veterans Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 18.
