Freeda Ellen(McDonald ) Moentnish, 98 of Springfield, passed away on Thursday, November 16th, 2023 peacefully in her home.
After marrying Ernest Wayne Moentnish in 1947, they would have homes in several places, before settling in Springfield and sharing 72 years together.
Freeda loved milking the cows on her various farms, gardening and canning. Together, Ernest and Freeda would have 3 children; Ernest Jr., Patricia, and Alvin. For 18 years, she helped prepare the meals at the Doling Senior Citizen Center.
She is survived by her daughter; Patricia and (husband) Bob Hicker, her son; Alvin and (wife) Janet Moentnish, Ernest Jr’s wife; Shirley Moentnish, 7 grandkids, and 10 great-grandkids.
A memorial service will be held at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at a later date (to be posted).
