Helen Delores Weaver, 87 of Springfield, went home to be with Her Lord and Savior on September 19, 2023.

She was a faithful member of Glendale Christian Church for almost 50 years and loved the Lord with all her heart. Helen was a single mom of Billy, working as a secretary at The Joplin Globe when, in 1959, she met Max, the love of her life. They married that same year, soon after adding a new baby girl to the family. Helen worked as a secretary for Emerson Elementary School in Joplin, MO; was the manager of the Montgomery Ward Catalog Store in Farmington, MO; was an accounting clerk for Johnny Morris’s original Bass Pro Shops location, Secretary at the United Cerebral Palsy of Southwest Missouri offices in Springfield, MO, and finally became the office administrator and a licensed agent at Forest T. Jones Insurance in Springfield, MO, from where she retired in 1991.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Sherry Carney (Mike); her daughter-in-law, Judy Cox; her brother, Steve Barclay (Ruth); her brother, Ronnie Barclay (Velma); her brothers-in-law, Mike (Karen) and Mark (Claudia) Weaver; her grandkids, Dustin Cox, Whitney Cox, Caitlin Garcia (Joshua) and Sean Carney; and her two great grandkids, Stella and Maxine Garcia; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Cremation is under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home North.

Please note a celebration of life is planned for Sunday, October 1st at 2 PM at Glendale Christian Church; 2110 South Blackman Road, Springfield, MO 65809. T
