John R. Murphy, 88 of Springfield, died surrounded by family on November 15th, 2023.
Daddy was proud to work as a Springfield City Fireman of 19 years. He was the most handsome man and best husband to our mom for 57 years and his Catholic faith was important to him.
John is survived by his wife, Sue; his children, Kathy (Karl), Johnny (Jenna) Tommy (Jenny) and Michael (Dawn). Daddy was Papa to 11 grandchildren, Ashley, Emily, Sarah, Anna, Johnny, Shawn, Jakob, Marissa, Ariel, Lauren and Owen and 4 Great grandchildren Alex, Catelyn, Oliver, and Leeland. Additionally Daddy is survived by his sister Barb, and brothers Pat (Linda) and Robert (Sonnie) and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
John’s Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1609 N. Summit in Springfield with Father Ray Smith officiating.
Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Springfield.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut Street, Springfield, Missouri.
