Edith “Tudie” Elizabeth Bybee, 100 of Bolivar, passed away at the age of 100 after a brief illness on September 24, 2023.

She met her future husband, Hobart “Bud” Bybee and to this union were born two children, Donald and Donna. Bud, who passed away in 1984, was an ordained Missionary Baptist minister; Edith was a devoted “preacher’s wife.”

She was saved at the age of 27 and was a member of Sentinel Missionary Baptist Church. Edith had several jobs throughout her lifetime including teaching, operating the telephone switchboard, and working at Teter’s Floral.

Survivors include her children: Donald and wife Reva of Halfway, Donna and husband Neil Reynolds of Polk. Grandchildren: Keith Bybee and wife Marci of Preston, Kirk Reynolds and wife Beth of Bolivar. Great grandchildren: Kyler Bybee and fiancée Paige Myers, Brooke Reynolds, and Paige Reynolds. Step-grandchildren: Lisa Moore and Matt Forrest. Also many nieces and nephews.

Services for “Tudie” will be on Wednesday, September 27 at 10:00 AM at Pitts Chapel Bolivar, MO.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 26 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the chapel.

Burial will follow the service at Mt. View Cemetery in Polk, MO.
