Richard Eugene Cartwright, 69 of Springfield, passed away Monday, September 18, 2023, in his home, after a long illness.

Richard was born in Greene County, MO. on June 30, 1954, to Richard D. and Virginia (Cowan) Cartwright. He had worked for the Redneck Trailer Company and loved spending time with his family. Richard was a United States Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Rosemary (Rosie) Cartwright, of the home, his sons and their wives, Bill and Tara Phillips, Richard and Michelle Cartwright, Dustin and Shana Cartwright, and John and Melissa Phillips, and his daughter and her husband: Tina and Phillip Hodges, his step-father: Larry Browning, his 13 grandchildren: Carson (Ashlyn), Chase, Calleigh, Quinn, Emily, Stephanie, Phillip Jr., Austin (Katherine), Sean (Amber), Zach (Sophia), Hannah, Sophie, and Payton. his 17 great-grandchildren: Dixie, Daisey, Rylee, Bentley, Jocelynn, Oakley, Houston, Easton, Hunter, Mason, Marlie, Bentley, Sophia, William, Kourtney, Alexander, and Conner, his brother: Leslie and Kathy Cartwright, his brother-in-law: Curtis Conway, and Michelle and Jeff Manci, as well as many aunts and uncles.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023,  from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at American Legion Post 676: 2350 North Clifton Avenue, Springfield, MO.
