Rijne M. O’Malley, 62 of Springfield, transitioned to her next adventure at 9:56 am on Thursday, November 16th, 2023, in Cox South Hospital.

Rijne O’Malley was a Veteran of the United States Marines as a Military Police Officer back in the 1980’s during the end of the Cold War.

Rijne was a published writer and poet. Back in the 1980’s for a short time she owned a Pizza place called Happy Corner Pizza. Rijne was not only an amazing mom to her two children Hawk O’Malley (her partner Cameron Burns) and Ben VanOs ( Wife Kimberly VanOs ) and granny to her five grandchildren Willow Mariah (2002-2002) Ashlyn and Sylah Varner and Dixie and Hank VanOs but a wonderful person to all. She was also an interior decorator and served as a Police officer and served as a security officer in the state of Oklahoma.

She was greatly loved by her family and by her siblings: Nash McBride (wife Heidi) Carmen Johnson (husband Wesley) Lanette Golian(husband Daniel) and her nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, Aunts and Uncles and cousins all over the United States.

She is survived by her eldest daughter Hawk O’Malley and son Ben VanOs.

A private memorial will be held December 2nd, 2023.

Her cremation was under the care of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, for which our family is very grateful for.
