Springfield’s Dickerson Park Zoo turns 100 this year, and the zoo is offering fans a chance to win a behind-the-scenes tour of the park.
According to a press release, Dickerson Park Zoo is asking fans of the zoo to create a video on any social media platform that’s 30 seconds or less. Participants are asked to make the best, most clever, most creative video wishing the zoo a happy 100th birthday. The winner gets a year-long “Zoo Safari” membership. In addition, the winner gets to go on a behind-the-scenes tour with three of their friends.
The prize tour includes two animal encounters that the staff chooses, giraffe and petting zoo feedings and a snack and souvenir cup from the Bush Country Cafe.
Joey Powell, the zoo’s public relations/marketing director wants contestants to follow three simple rules.
“Keep it clever, concise and clean,” Powell said.
To qualify for entry into the contest, the videos must be posted before June 3, 2023, and they can be posted to any social media website. Dickerson Park Zoo must be tagged in the post and the following hashtags: #IloveDPZ #DPZ100th #Ilovespringfield and #springfieldmo must be included.
The winner of the contest will be announced on June 28, 2023.
