Lindsey McDaniel has joined the Springfield Daily Citizen as a donor engagement associate responsible for related platforms and communications.
McDaniel most recently worked at the Springfield-Greene County Library District as a librarian. Earlier, she was responsible for collection development programs for the University Libraries, including acquisitions of books, journals, ebooks and databases to support curricular and research needs.
McDaniel was also in touch with library donors and in-kind donations at the library.
At the Citizen, McDaniel will work with senior leadership to oversee growth of the donor base and other business development opportunities. She will also manage email, web content, newsletters, event invitations and information reports for marketing and business.
“I have been rooting for the Daily Citizen since I first saw announcements of its formation last summer,” McDaniel said. “Having worked in higher education and recently in our public libraries, I’ve gotten to see firsthand how crucial it is for people to have access to local news and factual information.
“This is a time for our community to come together to face the myriad challenges in our world, and the Springfield Daily Citizen is committed to facilitating those relationships — to providing local, nonpartisan information that will help us take action together. As part of the SDC team, I hope to build trust and build connections with the unique community we have here in Southwest Missouri.”
