Independence Day celebrations bring communities together for fireworks, games, picnics, music and more.
That’s true in Christian County where a variety of festivals, activities, entertainment and fireworks displays are taking place in honor of the holiday.
Here’s what you’ll find in the next several days.
- 5 p.m. June 21-22, Fireworks on the Finley at the Sertoma Duck Race Festival, Finley River Park, 891-961 N. Riverside Road, Ozark
- Festival activities include kids’ games, a cornhole tournament, Hot Air Balloon Glow, live music, a pie eating contest and more.
- Fireworks begin at 10:15 p.m. Saturday.
- 6 p.m. June 22, Clever Freedom Celebration, Clever High School, 6800 W. Veterans Blvd., Clever
- This annual celebration includes food, entertainment, a free kids’ zone, vendors and fireworks.
- 5 p.m. June 29 – Annual 4th of July Celebration, City Park, Billings
- Enjoy vendors, craft booths and food options beginning at 5 p.m.
- Lawn chairs and blankets to sit on are recommended for watching the fireworks that begin after dark.
- 5 p.m. June 29 – Sixth annual Independence Day Celebration, 814 Mills Road, Ozark
- Peace in the Storm is hosting a picnic-style dinner of grilled hamburgers and hotdogs at 6 p.m. Guests should bring a side dish or dessert.
- A praise and worship session begins at 7 p.m. followed by a fireworks display.
- 7 p.m. June 29 – Sky High Fireworks Celebration, Nixa High School, 514 S. Nicholas Road, Nixa
- Inflatables, balloon twisting, face painting, food, games, music and more will entertain attendees.
- Fireworks are at the Nixa High School Eagles Stadium.
- 6:30 p.m June 30 – July 4th Church Family Celebration, Riverdale Baptist Church, 549 W. Riverdale Drive, Nixa
- This annual celebration includes a cookout with sides and drinks provided. Guests are asked to bring a dessert in a disposable dish.
- A fireworks show follows a gospel music performance by The Missourians.
- 3 p.m. July 4 – Chadwick Annual 4th Of July Fireworks show
- Jack’s Ice Cream Truck and a fair-style lemonade stand open at 3 p.m. and Tin Lizzies Tonic Truck is available from 4-5 p.m.
- The Chadwick Fire Department begins a donations-only fundraiser dinner at 6 p.m. The meal includes pulled pork sandwiches, potato salad and baked beans or hotdogs and chips.
- Fireworks with the “Star Spangled Banner” begin at 9 p.m.
