As a public service, the Springfield Daily Citizen will print a free “death notice” with basic information about people who are recently deceased.
Death notices must be provided – and verified by – the funeral home handling the arrangements. The notices must be written by the funeral home and submitted to the Daily Citizen, which will provide only review and light editing for clarity, grammar or style. This is to minimize the risk of errors.
