Veda Levina Locke, 94 of Springfield, passed away on April 28, 2024, in Springfield, Missouri.
Veda and her husband were appointed as Southern Baptist missionaries in many locations through their lives. Veda was active in her church, First Baptist, Springfield, as a Sunday School teacher, with visitation, and in leading small prayer groups.
Survivors include her children, Judith Miller (Larry), Martin (Pam), Stephen (Tonya), Charles (Donita), and Alan (Elsbeth);and others.
Visitation will be held May 2, 2024, from 5:00 until 7:00 PM, at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, Springfield; and on May 3, 2024, from 12:00 until 1:00 PM, at First Baptist Church, Springfield, with a funeral service following at 1:00 PM.
A graveside service will be held following the service at approximately 3:00 PM in Mount Olive Cemetery, Polk County, Missouri, where Veda will be buried next to her husband, Russell.
Memorial contributions in Veda Locke’s memory may be made to the Lottie Moon International Missions Fund through the First Baptist Church, Springfield.
