Springfield police are investigating a deadly shooting Saturday night, Jan. 20, at a residence in northeast Springfield.

According to a news release, officers responded to 930 N. Rogers around 9 p.m. Jan. 20 and found 34-year-old Dustin Pruitt, from Springfield, inside the home with a gunshot wound.

Medical personnel transported Pruitt to the hospital where he later died. 

The person who shot Pruitt was questioned by detectives but has not been arrested at this time.

Once the investigation is completed, the case will be presented to the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office, who will review and decide on filing criminal charges.
