In advance of Giving Tuesday, a southwest Missouri charitable foundation released an updated version of a holiday gifting guide.

The Community Foundation of the Ozarks’ Holiday Charitable Giving Guide for 2023 is now available. The guide includes a listing of charitable organizations the foundation supports with grants, as well as advice for donors about gifting strategies that help the recipients gain more from their philanthropy.

CFO holds funds for about 700 nonprofit groups that include charities, schools, cities and churches across southern and central Missouri. The guide offers links to year-end fundraising campaigns for those groups.

Advice the guide offers donors includes:

  • Contacting the agency to see if it is in need of supplies or services immediately.
  • Setting up a recurring gift on a monthly or quarterly basis.
  • Giving unrestricted gifts, enabling the recipient to use money where it is most needed.

With roots in New York City in 2012, Giving Tuesday has grown into a worldwide effort for raising awareness about charitable giving right at the start of the holiday buying season.
