Doris Virginia Maggi, 88 of Bolivar, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2023.

Doris was married to her high school sweetheart, Leroy “Joe” Shoemaker from September 25, 1954. She later married Bill Maggi.

Doris was a homemaker, raising her family and taking care of everyone. She was a lifetime Auxiliary Member at CMH, a lifelong Methodist, and a current member of Open Hearts United Methodist in Bolivar. Doris cleaned her house, fixed her own hair, and flipped her own mattress until the day she died.

She is survived by her son, Mike Shoemaker; daughters: Terri Krahenbuhl (Mark), Beth Collum (David), and Stacy Hanson (James); ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; brothers: JD, David, and Marion Schlobohm; sisters: Betty Rezin, Judie Sparks, and Lynda Maloney; four stepchildren and their families, and many other family and friends.

A Celebration of Life for Doris will take place on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., at Open Hearts United Methodist Church in Bolivar.

Memorial contributions may be made in Doris’ name to CMH Auxiliary, D.A.V., or Open Hearts United Methodist Church.
